A project was organized with the University of Alberta and the National Council of Jewish Women to teach learning activities to disadvantaged children. The League donated $6,400 and volunteers over the years. Norwood citizens, financed by Preventive Social Services, took over operation of the project in 1968. The Readiness Centre House opened in 1970. Volunteer participation was terminated in 1973. [Back to top] |
