WOMEN BUILDING BETTER communities. That’s the Junior League. We are Edmonton’s leading women’s organization committed to developing and delivering projects in direct response to serving children, youth and families at risk in our community.We have been part of the community since 1928 with the objective of recognizing and servicing needs in the area through our fundraising and volunteers. Our purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.

It is through our fundraising events that we are able to provide small-scale, big-impact support to organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club of Edmonton, the Youth Emergency Shelter, The Bissell Centre, Kids Kottage and Planned Parenthood.Proceeds from the 2007 Homes for the Holidays event supported a number of deserving causes in the Edmonton area. Through our ongoing Kids in the Kitchen program, we taught 43 kids from the Boys and girls Club about nutrition and helped them prepare a nutritious meal. We improved living and work environments by remodeling the kitchen at the Youth Emergency Shelter and by renovating the dining and living rooms at Kids Kottage. In addition to completing these hands-on projects, we also contributed grants to Basically Babies, who provide layettes for newborn babies in need, and supported the YWCA Women of Distinction award for Community Service.
