Mission

The Junior League of Edmonton is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.

Vision

As Edmonton's leading women's organization, the Junior League of Edmonton offers its members fellowship, leadership development and meaningful opportunities to strengthen the community through voluntarism.

Guiding Principles

Community

  • We will strive to listen and respond to community needs.
  • We will make meaningful contributions through volunteer action.
Training

  • We will recognize, utilize and develop skills of our members.
  • We will provide formal and informal training to develop leadership skills.
  • We will provide opportunities to apply our skills in a supportive organizational structure within the League and the community.
  • We will learn from experienced members, sustainers and community contacts.
Image
  • Our image will be well known and distinct.
  • We will strive to be well regarded in the community.
Organization
  • Our organization will be flexible and responsive to balance membership, organizational and community needs.
Membership Rewards

Position Statements

Position Statement on Individuals and Family

The Junior League of Edmonton supports and promotes individuals and families having the right to opportunities, services and facilities essential for optimal physical, intellectual, emotional and social well-being.

Position Statement on Restoration and Preservation of Historic Buildings

The Junior League of Edmonton supports restoration and preservation of historic buildings and education of our membership and the public on the importance of our Canadian heritage.

Position Statement on Voluntarism

The Junior League of Edmonton supports and promotes voluntarism as an essential component of our society and will continue to take action which will ensure the effectiveness of the voluntary sector.
